Chanting

Chanting Asevana ca bālānaṁ
paṇḍitānaṁ ca sevana

The hymns of our tradition are divided into two volumes.

Volume I specialises in Pūjas and Reflections.

There is a tendency to translate Pūja as devotional chants, but in this case we have chosen to leave terms untranslated so that those new to Buddhism can approach the teachings with a fresh and inquiring mind.

Supreme Blessings
Bhojanga Paritta. This paritta has been chanted to heal the sick since the time of Buddha, more than 2,600 years ago.
Jayamangala partitta. It is a blessing sung on joyous occasions: to inaugurate a new house, or for Tam Bun (to earn merit) and protect from danger. It describes Buddha’s peaceful victories over the māras. Cincaya (the woman who pretended to be pregnant with Buddha’s child) was swallowed up by the earth for accusing others without true cause.
